Green Island and the Kuranda Scenic Train

Located just 45 minutes from Cairns is Green Island, a beautiful tropical paradise and 6000 year old coral cay covered in white sands and cool rainforest. Green Island is a protected Marine National Park with an abundance of tropical fish, turtles, giant clams and many more Take a catamaran over to the island and spend 2 hours discovering the underwater world in the coral reefs. Choose whether to explore the reef with a snorkel or sit back and observe the underwater world from a glass bottomed boat. You may of course decide to simply relax on the sandy beach. The crew of the high speed Reef Rocket catamaran are on hand to ensure you make the most of your time on Green Island.

In the midst of a mountainous rainforest area just west of Cairns lies Kuranda and an unforgettable experience. Take the six person gondola Skyrail and silently glide over the treetops to gaze at the magnificent rainforest canopy just inches beneath you. With magnificent views over the forest, the Cairns Highlands and the Coral Sea this is a unique day out. Finally a transfer to the Kuranda Scenic Railway will transport visitors past 15 hand cut tunnels, rushing waterfalls, deep ravines and the rainforest floor in this fascinating World Heritage Site. In a single day visitors will have experienced the contrasts of one of the oldest and most scenic railways and the high technology of the Skyrail.
